Learning about the purpose and colors of flags and banners in and out of church, July 18, 2012

Suzi  Herman was our guest speaker at class. Suzi has a Flags and Banners Ministry and flag and banner making business. We used to have flags ad banners at our church but it was stopped. I really don’t know why. It seemed to me, a fairly new Christian that it just made the Praise and Worship part of the  service that much more awesome. It really made me feel like the Holy Spirit was just washing over us, ever so gently. We are praying that it is brought back into our church.

Suzi taught us that the reasons and purposes of flags were credited to the Holy Spirit. To give a desired message of the heart, Isaiah 12:2. The first banner or flag was noted in Exodus. Banners are slightly different than flags. Flags don’t have that much written on them and banners can be ornate. Flag colors mean different things also.Yyellow for example means: faith, Glory of God, anointing. Sapphire blue means: The Law, The Commandments, authority, prayer, Holy Spirit. So you see that waving a flag or banner is about the color and message conveyed by the Holy Spirit.

There are also different waves with flags that can  demonstrate different parts of the praise and worship music. Such as fluttering. It can represent the Holy Spirit. I find this all quite interesting and look forward to Suzi returning next Wednesday with her smaller hand held flags. For more information on flags and banners check out Suzi Hermans website: http://www.creationsanewflags.com .

It’s good to learn new things!

Blessings, Mary
